This Week I'll be practicing with Voronoi Fracturing and Lsystems.
Here's a place holder screen shot till I get a video up.

Using Houdini's Particle Fluids Flip Tank tutorial, I was able to replicate the effect in this exorcise and help me understand how this dynamic works.

Experimenting with the fractal Rigid Body fracturing feature, I took it upon myself to make several primitives (a nod to learning how to model), make them breakable and roll them down a hill. This the results of this test. A little finessing could be done to shift the orientation, position and possibly scale of the objects to get maximum collisions with each other and the surface; however the results were still pleasing and demonstrated the principal just as well.

Beginnings with Houdini!

This week I experimented with breaking objects and ridged surfaces. The following the just an exorcise that I learned which has implications for many applications in scenes if you use your imagination; such as rocks or debris cascading down a hillside or from an explosion.

I also was working with "Axis Forces" which is essentially like wind or magnetic currents/fields to manipulate particles to do something. For the example I created a "Swarm" like effect that emerges like a gathering weapon blast. (I was unable to get a flipbook video of it but here are some shots)

Here is a poor quality recording of the effect. (Sorry for the phone camera recording.)
