I continue to work on one of my projects that encompasses some of the things I've learned, "The Crates". They continue to give me trouble. Exporting and importing as a FBX is no longer a problem and converting all the separate crate planks to RBD Glue Objects is no problem. The problem I'm having is the grouping that is done in Maya before it is exported as a FBX. When I bring it over to Houdini as a FBX, I then combine the groups individually that I made to make it easier to control the Glue Network for constraints and have the crate break apart they way I desire. Right now it still doesn't look nearly natural enough (as much as it can not doing Wood Fracturing) with many of the planks completely coming apart in an unnatural way that would never happen. I AM making some progress in the grouping however to make it more believable. I will further manipulate the groups and the glue constraints to get the breakage I desire. As soon as I get this crate right, I can duplicate it, add the anvil and render the scene.

New Project Started!
This week I started the new Crate Breaking Simulation. I discovered how to import
a FBX from Maya which contains many single pieces. I was able to make
them in to RBD objects and thus intractable with the environment. I started playing with the
Glue Constraints network so that I could get a more realistic outcome. I may use some minor
fractures because as you will see in the following video, just having the single planks break
apart looks good, but a little odd. I will continue and hopefully be done by the
end of next week and move on to the next project.

This week I'm starting a new project that will demonstrate some of the skills I've learned in Houdini soo far. This project will be showing how well I can portray two different weighted objects and how they fall at different speeds and impact with different force. The following are some diagrams of what I hope to accomplish.
Two Wooden Boxes(Crates) will be dropped from the same height.
The audience will not know whats in them.
They will fall at different rates and impact the ground.
Breaking Apart.
This will reveal to the audience why they crates behaved
the way that they did because the heavier one will have
an anvil in it and the lighter one will have nothing.
I've already modeled and textured a plank which will construct the
crate with using Glue Constraints in Houdini. (Not using Voronoi Fracture
this time)
This is my reference.
